Background :

 

The Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has been the beneficiary of this European twinning implemented from 2008 to 2010. IOWater was entrusted by the French Ministry of Ecology with coordinating support to the implementation of an IWRM policy.

The French contribution consisted in the development of a water quality management plan for Lake Nasser, and an institutional assistance for the control of accidental pollution carried out by CEDRE.

Services :

Implementation of a test for the formulation of a management plan for Lake Nasser in line with the European Water Framework Directive

On-site training of the Egyptian staff.

Implementation of a web-portal and a web-based catalogue of water data. Reinforcement of shared data management and development of data management capacities among the main stakeholders.
