Background :
The Twinning RO98/IB-EN-04 was awarded to France in view of strengthening the capacity of Romanian institutions to adapt and implement the European Directives included in the agreement.
Under the leadership of IOWater, French experts analysed the 1996 water law and decrees either already existing or under preparation regarding urban wastewater, nitrates from agricultural sources and emission of dangerous substances. In addition, training activities addressed municipal water utilities and local and regional elected representatives.
